Cafe Mozart's owner & chef, Hans Loschl searched for a restaurant to call his own for ten years before finding the perfect location in historic San Juan Capistrano in 2003. With his classical training in Vienna and extensive work experience throughout Europe, Canada and the United States, chef Hans maintains the high standards of quality that have been at the heart of Cafe Mozart since its opening in 1977. His wife Carla provides one-of-a-kind wedding cakes and homemade desserts for the restaurant.

Chef Loschl’s experience includes the position of Executive Chef of Umberto’s al Porto, a popular Italian restaurant in Vancouver BC, named “The Best Restaurant in Vancouver” under his guidance.

In 1987, Chef Loschl served as the Fine Dining Room Chef for the Westin Maui, where he was instrumental in developing this new hotel/restaurant into five-star recognition.

Locally, he has served as the Executive Chef at The Cellar in Fullerton, Le Biarritz in Newport Beach, Santa Ana Country Club, and the Westin South Coast Plaza.

Since 2003, chef Hans has shared his experience as a fine dining chef and restaurateur with his guests at Cafe Mozart. His talent and expertise will guarantee the success of your dinner parties, banquets and special events. Cafe Mozart has been voted 'Best of San Juan' at the Taste of San Juan for the last 5 years.
