Café Mozart’s new owner and chef, Johann Loschl has been looking for a restaurant to call his own for over 10 years. He is happy to have found the perfect location in Historic San Juan Capistrano. Joining him in this new venture will be his wife Carla, who will be lending her baking talents to the restaurant’s menu, and creating one-of-a-kind wedding cakes.

Having trained in Vienna and worked throughout Europe, Canada and the United States, Johann is ready to use his experience to maintain the high standards of quality that have been at the heart of Café Mozart since it’s opening in 1977.

Chef Loschl’s experience includes the position of Executive Chef of Umberto’s al Porto, a popular Italian restaurant in Vancouver BC, named “The Best Restaurant in Vancouver” under his guidance.

In 1987, Chef Loschl served as the Fine Dining Room Chef for the Westin Maui, where he was instrumental in developing this new hotel/restaurant into five-star recognition.

Locally, he has served as the Executive Chef at The Cellar in Fullerton, Le Biarritz in Newport Beach, Santa Ana Country Club, and the Westin South Coast Plaza.

Now at home in beautiful San Juan Capistrano, Chef Hans shares his experience as a fine chef and restaurateur with his guests at Café Mozart. His talent and expertise will guarantee the success of your dinner parties, banquets, and special events.
